Color Psychology in Modern Spaces

In our studio we treat colour as atmosphere, not decoration. A warm white — not a cool one — wraps a room in softness. A deep charcoal creates intimacy. A saturated blue can make a small space feel like a sanctuary rather than a cave.
The key is understanding context. A colour that feels vibrant in a showroom can overwhelm a bedroom. We test every finish in situ, under the actual lighting conditions, at different times of day, before committing.
We also pay attention to what colour does to the perception of space. Pale floors lift ceilings; dark ceilings lower them. Horizontal colour bands widen a room; vertical bands raise it. These are not tricks — they are tools.
The most powerful use of colour in our work is often its absence. A monochrome room, executed in three or four tones of the same hue, creates a sense of cohesion and calm that contrasting colours rarely achieve.
Colour does not decorate a room. It charges it.
